Hooray! It's nearly Summer!

It's a perfect time to order some Zodiaxx t-shirts for the family and hang out in the yard to play in the sun, or stargaze! Our Zodiaxx onesies are so cute on little ones.

We're going to do a search of the moment feature on our home page, because some of the searches crack us up. The search of the moment currently is "imum coeli", which is technical and not as funny. But it's useful to know.

Imum Coeli is one name for the cusp of the fourth house in a chart. It is opposite from the Midheaven or the Medium Coeli, also known as the cusp of the tenth house. Generally the Imum Coeli is abbreviated as the "IC", just as the Medium Coeli is known as the "MC".

Jupiter/Neptune/Chiron Superconjunction May 2009

Jupiter, Neptune and Chiron are moving to conjoin throughout May, and into June. This transit will be in Aquarius. With Uranus in Pisces and Neptune in Aquarius there is some mutual reception going on with these outer planets and the overall energy, because Uranus is ruled by Aquarius and Neptune is ruled by Pisces.

In addition to being highly spiritual energy, this conjunction can expand optimism and promote a dreamlike quality. I would encourage everyone to not take undue risks right now, if things are not clear. Mind the small print, and pay attention to details. The sun will be squaring Saturn during this time, and the Taskmaster doesn't tolerate excuses for irresponsible behavior.

I expect to see some very weird weather, which I have seen in the past with Neptune/Jupiter transits. With Juno conjoining Uranus toward the end of May, I expect to see some big, weird storms. I also expect there might be at least one larger earthquake which involves undersea activity. Not necessarily anything that causes major damage, but, for example, a large undersea earthquake that is in the middle of nowhere, that causes no trouble but registers big time on monitoring equipment.

Overall this Jupiter/Neptune/Chiron conjunction will be great energy for healing, spiritual breakthroughs, and the underdogs and weirdos receiving that which is long overdue.

Election Observations

The date of the United States being “open for business” is the date of legal confederation, which is March 4, 1789. I use a solar chart for this date as the US chart. It seems to work well for most historical dates associated with the United States.

This year there is a face off between Saturn and Uranus, getting more intense as fall and winter ensue. I think that the eclipses in August kick things off, but the full moon September 15 really shakes things up, as transiting Saturn opposes US natal Saturn and sun in the chart I mention above. The full moon September 15 also exactly conjoins natal Mercury, within a few seconds, and transiting Chiron and the North Node conjoin natal Pluto and Venus. Transiting Jupiter also opposes natal Jupiter at this time and there is mutual reception with transiting Neptune conjoining natal Venus in Aquarius and transiting Venus (as well as transiting Mercury and Mars) conjoining natal Neptune in Libra. The mutual reception being that Venus rules Libra, and these conjunctions are in two air signs, creating a trine.

During the first eclipse in August, US natal Uranus was activated. I am writing this in July, so we'll see exactly what this means in August. I think that plenty of surprising information about the last administration, as well as continued twists and turns with the current presidential candidates will be the likely theme.

The overall theme of this cycle is probably a re-structuring of our political system, as well as redefining our place in the world. There will probably be quite a bit of rumpus. But given the overall picture, it seems to be that the Universe is setting up an opportunity for the good of all, for healing and for the highest vibration of peace and well-being (Venusian and Libran energy). With the Saturn/Uranus opposition being in Virgo and Pisces, I think true spirituality and service to others will prevail over arrogance, entitlement, and totalitarianism. At least, I'm hoping for the best.

The Saturn/Uranus opposition is energy of stop-go-stop-go. It's similar in energy to a slip-strike earthquake fault. The energy can build up, until is has to release and then it does so quickly, creating sudden instability.

It is now November 2, and I am finishing the article. What a crazy election year it's been.

Election day is significant, of course. The sun will trine the US natal Sun on that day, as well as transiting Uranus. Transiting Uranus is within four degrees of the US natal sun, and it will station direct on November 27. I expect lots of rumblings and rumpus between election day and about December 1, continuing through until inauguration day, January 20, 2009.

November 16, transiting Mars will cross into Sagittarius, which is the MC of the US natal solar chart. I think this will manifest as a test to the people of the United States, and its leadership with regard to the religious us-against-them ideals that have been coloring the last 8 years. I think that the Sagittarius new moon on November 27, along with Uranus going direct that truth will come to light, and people in the Bush administration will be taken to task for their carelessness.

Barack Obama was born with a 6th house sun, which is the house of service to others. His chart is not as interesting to me as his wife, Michelle's. She was born January 17, and will have her solar return very close to inauguration day. She has natal Pluto at 13Vir59, which means that she has been dealing with Saturn conjoining her natal Pluto while Uranus has been opposing it. That's some pretty intense outer planet energy. Ok, back to Barack- his natal Mars at 22Vir35 will continue to be highly activated by the Saturn/Uranus opposition. The full moon December 12 is going to light up his chart like a Christmas tree. I think it will be very interesting to see how this powerful energy manifests. I strongly recommend that Senator Obama and his family utilize every means of staying safe and protected during this time and the Mars/Pluto conjunction on December 27 that is combined with the Sagittarius new moon. The Mars/Pluto conjunction will square his progressed sun, and oppose his natal Venus. It's impossible to predict how this energy will manifest, exactly. I would prefer that they err on the side of caution.

John McCain was born with a tenth house sun, which is the house of public status and career. John McCain has the disadvantage of having his natal Saturn at 20Pisces08, which is contacted by transiting Uranus, Saturn, and the full moon December 12 will really hit it hard. I don't think Senator McCain is going to have an easy time of things. I think he will fall ill, or have some kind of health crisis. Take your vitamins, Senator.

The inauguration day chart has a late degree Scorpio moon at 29Sco45. This energy is coming out of the dark of lies and deception into the light of the higher mind and spiritual truth (Sagittarius). With Sagittarius's ruler, Jupiter conjoining the sun, I am hopeful that this indicates a new era dawning for my country. With Venus conjoining Uranus, I think that much to the surprise of the “old guard” the citizens of this country will band together at this time in love, in admiration, in camaraderie and in the shared love and ideals of what America can be, and achieve. I think there is still a crisis that we haven't averted or seen the last of. But I also think Americans are ready to come together as they did during the World Wars, pull ourselves up by the boot straps and take our place as the benevolent, fun-loving, high minded nation that delights in innovation, inclusion and freedom to enjoy life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
